Don has a strong educational background. He received his MBA from the prestigious Anderson School at UCLA with a unique triple major of finance/accounting/real estate after completing his undergraduate work at Cal with a business major and math minor. He then worked for two different real estate development firms in Santa Barbara. Don was the broker/owner of Oasis Realty for 28 years in Santa Barbara. He then joined Sotheby's International Realty and can now offer his buyers and sellers international exposure as well as, through the company web site, a powerful real estate web presence to showcase listings and assist buyers in their search for the perfect home. Don additionally worked as a mortgage broker for three years and has a very strong grasp of the lending environment and linkage to competitive and competent lender/brokers.
Don also has many years experience in building and renovating properties as well as getting conversion and building projects thru the grueling City of SB process. He recently designed and built his own dream home. This experiential base helps him to be able to offer clients ideas of ways to possibly improve on properties that they are considering purchasing. In working with Sellers it is important to be able to open the eyes of potential Buyers to a home’s possibilities as well as to integrate important features and potentials into the marketing process.
Don has always felt that clients deserve to be treated with respect and honesty and promises to deliver 110% on their behalf. He has been through good markets and bad and understands that strategies change with changing markets. He also understands that each client has a different set of needs that must be fulfilled to result in a successful and pleasant transaction.
Don understands the importance of listening and initially learning about each client's specific needs. He also understands the need for timely information and quick feedback as part of what is required for every successful real estate transaction. Don will use his experience to streamline the process as much as possible.
