Alex Rouffaer is an adopted Santa Barbara native. Originally from Northern California, Alex has made a great life for himself after graduating from UCSB with a degree in Sociology.
Alex started his career in sales of products for new homes. Already on the fast track for a management position in that field, this experience made him astutely aware of the needs and details in the construction industry. Applying the social interactive skills he learned at the university, he became an expert negotiator for many successful contracts. Meanwhile, through his many relationships and contacts, Alex acquired various properties and proceeded to renovate them. After numerous successes, he became passionate about a career in real estate and within record time obtained his broker’s license.
Alex worked for Century 21’s top Santa Barbara branch for three years and later started American Riviera with a group of young, talented agents that embodied his sales approach of being a good listener, and someone who doesn’t pressure his clients with overbearing sales techniques.
Alex is an intuitive negotiator who knows where the threshold of fair price lies because of his research and trusted construction contacts who work with him and his clients on each deal they evaluate. He understands the sensitivity of the escrow process and the translation credits can play into the overall structure of a deal. With his broker knowledge he is more adept at understanding the escrow process from both sides, which for him has saved a lot of deals because of his creativity in mitigating what each party needs.
His construction knowledge and contacts in the local construction industry have made him a great broker/agent who knows how to evaluate the pros and cons of each and every property he gets involved with. Many of his clients have become close friends and he enjoys the satisfaction he gets from helping them get into a property they can live happily in for years to come.
