This classic ranch style home was designed by Phillip May and built in 1952 by Harold Imbach. It was one of the first of what would become known as the "Imbach Homes" which are known for their wide ranch styling, wooden walls, masonry fireplaces and copper hoods in the kitchen. Imbach often selected sites with views of the valley and designed in huge picture windows like the one in the living room of this house. Later a master suite addition was added which made this house over 3500 square feet with four bedrooms, three full baths and two large offices. The house has four masonry fireplaces, outstanding views and is surrounded by mature oaks.

The property once included all the surrounding 5 acres which was subdivided into the neighborhood below this property. The remaining lot is still over one acre which means that it is eligible for a potential subdivision into two parcels. A preliminary map has been surveyed and presented to the City of Solvang for consideration and they have determined that the project is feasible.
